Great location. The North Shore is very relaxing and fun! Our kids had a great time snorkeling with the turtles right on "our" beach. House is older and could use some updating, but was clean and mostly comfortable. The beds could definitely use new, more comfortable mattresses.
definitely plan to return.
We really enjoyed walking on the beach, snorkeling and playing in the water and watching the turtles. It was so great to be away from the crowds. The big yard, sand toys, hammock and lounge chairs were a plus too. Caretakers were very friendly and non-intrusive. Plenty of kitchen equipment, good laundry set up. Ants would be about our only complaint.

Brilliant house and utterly superb location. The view from the sun room, the garden, 20m to the beach, dozens of turtles on the beach adjoining the garden with good snorkelling (although poor visibility whilst we were there), even spotted a seal in the water!
My family and I enjoyed this property very much. The beach was right out the back door, reef snorkeling was great, the water was warm, lote of turtles & fish to see, and I would definately recommend this property for a family of four or five.
This property is in a great location but is overpriced for what it provides. It needs some serious updating to the furniture, kitchen, bathroom, etc. The house definitely looks like it has seen some traffic! It is right on the beach though so the location is wonderful.
Great location, TONS of sea turtles!! What an honor to be graced by their presence every morning and every evening on the beach, so much fun watching them swim around ALL DAY! For the age of the cottage and the fact that it is a rental, it is in good shape. Pics are very accurate. Was clean when arrived, but cleaner when we left! They need a new vacuum, I tried to use it as we had tracked sand in etc, but it was really bad! The shower was freshly painted, but old...but, I am a germa -phobe and still didn't wear flip flops in it! Washer and dryer work GREAT. Lot's of soap provided. Grills look terrible, they work fine though! Wish I upload my pics, we enjoyed our stay VERY much...again, you cannot beat the price with that location! North Shore is the place to be to avoid the hustle and bustle of Honolulu :) THANKS!
We stayed here for three nights in late October. The beach house was charming. There is a picnic table right on the surf's edge if you want to have a casual meal. My daughters loved the hammocks and swings. We saw numerous turtles our first night there. Everything is easy to get to from here. Wish we didn't have to come back!
We had a wonderful time. The accomodations are not luxurious, but definately a step up from the garage-converted-to-surfer-shack. WiFi did not exist as advertised - we found a single spot in the front yard where we could access a neighbor's unsecured line. But hey! you shouldn't be checking your email on vacation anyway. The caretakers live on the property very close to the rental which was a little unsettling at first, but Andre and family were wonderful hosts - and when we had a problem with the hot water, he fixed it promptly. If we had have brought 6 people, this place would have been too small, but for the 3 of us it was perfect. Would get the place next door if we brought the whole family, but wouldn't hesitate to rent this spot again for the two of us with a guest.
The weather was beautiful,sunny with a light breeze. We went snorkeling as often as we could,saw lots of colorful fish and a few of us got to swim with the turtles. Speaking of turtles, we had them on our beach every morning and every evening,we even named one big male was so special. Lots of touresty stuff to do in the near by town. Oh,and the food! You've got to eat at this little tai food place on the main street in Haleiwa,fabulious,also another good place is Haleiwa Joes. I could go on and on,we loved our little bungalo on the ocean. One problem. Before our stay was up, the gardner was mowing the grass. We were not even awake when he started. My friend got an allergy infection and it was loud and irritating for 45 minutes. It had an effect on the whole trip. Not what I wanted to remember most about my stay. I recommend that you have the gardner do his work AFTER tenents have checked out.
We completely understand not wanting to be woken up by a yardman however the yard service is on the same day eveyother week. I will double check that the day and time of yard service is posted in the home. Again am sorry for the inconvenience but am happy to hear that your trip went well otherwise. MAHALO
I can't say enough about the location. You couldn't find a better place to be on the island. Very peaceful and lots of turtles to see and swim with. Great snorkeling as well. The house could use some overall maintenance but it's a fantastic old beach house with lots of charm. If you are looking for an upscale home that is spotless this is not for you. If you are wanting a true Hawaiian experience with a peaceful beach then I highly suggest this property.

We can't wait to return next year! The house has such character - a real feel of old Hawaii. Andre and Yvonne were helpful and a delight as next door neighbors. From hiking to snorkeling to surfing - everything worth doing on Oahu is right there.
The ice maker made cubes, but was frozen up when we arrived, making it hard to open the freezer door until we chipped the frost/ice off. BUT the entire family had a wonderful time there - what a wonderful spot! Mahalo.
THE ONLY THING I WOULD RECOMIND IS GET BETTER WINDOW COVERS ON THE BEDROOM WINDOWS I DIDNT LIKE THE FACT THAT SOME ONE COULD SEE ME AT NIGHT. AND THE ANTS WAS APAIN BUT IT WAS NICE A NICE STAY THANK YOU
Given the range of price, a dish washer would have been appreciated.
The space in the huge yard was wonderful for our children. Everything was more than accommodating. Andre and his wife were wonderful and we enjoyed meeting one of their boys.Definitely one of our favorite fourth of Julys!!! -Lisa Malone
We left the cottage on the beach with regret. Our time together as a family was unforgetable. Swimming is not the greatest for adults, but for children, it's wonderful. Snorkeling, kayaking, quiet, restful, peaceful-it's all here!
We loved snorkeling along the reef, looking for living coral, fish, and sea turtles. Beautiful location, charming old Hawaii cottage.
Andre and Yvonne were great, we enjoyed meeting them. There was confusion about getting a remote for the TV, it took 2 days to resolve and get a remote to properly use the TV.The house was great; location was outstanding, we loved the beachfront and the neighborhood. It would be helpful if the kitchen had a dishwasher and if there was more closet space.We heard from a resident on Crozier that homes on Crozier Drive should not be rented out, Crozier Drive is not zoned as rental property.
I absolutely enjoyed staying at this rental house. The house has a beautiful yard surrounded by palm trees. Just beyond the yard is the beach. It was so nice to be able to walk out to the beach everyday. This part of Oahu is very peaceful and the beach felt very secluded. If you are looking for a simple place to stay to get away from all of the hustle and bustle, this is an excellent property to rent.
It was fun going out to dinner with our old friends Norris & Delores Sandvold. We live in White Bear Lake, Mn. We made the reservations when we were wintering in Miramar Beach Fl.
This is a very comfortable, funky cottage on a quiet residential street in Haleiwa. No frills, but your backyard is the beach! Great snorkeling, easy swimming, a highway for the green sea turtles. Lots of great restaurants in town. The TV went on the blink the first day and never got fixed, not even the DVD worked after that. Disapointed in slow/non-existant response. Great location on the North Shore, easy access to everything!
This home was in a beautiful location right on the beach with great snorkeling. The property was clean and well cared for. The caretakers were extremeley friendly and helpful as well. We will definitely book this home again.
we had agreat time,my girls 8 and 6 loved it,felt safe in the sea and location,felt like paradise to us.however apparently the previous occupants felt the accomodation was awful.however you are not paying for a five star accomodation so if your fussy over the adequate fixtures and fittings seek all in a great place where we will come and stay next xmas,yuors faithfully pauly
Gorgeous location, nice garden, linens soft and clean & management very helpful. The housekeeping can be improved: lamps were thick with cobwebs, window blinds were very dusty & the shower stall was grimy. The kitchen was clean, but needed to be restocked with fresh dishes, glasses and flatware. None-the-less, we had a very relaxing, pleasant stay--so much so that we booked this beach house for 2009.
We couldn't have asked for a better vacation rental in Hawaii. The property was beautiful and allowed us all access to what seemed like a private beach. We didn't spend much time inside the rental, but what time was spent inside we found to be very relaxing. The property was clean and very quiet. We didn't have to drive very far to stores or attractions. The property manager was the most helpful and one of the nicest people we met on the island. Overall if we had to do it again - we'd do it in a heartbeat!
The cabin is older, but well kept. Very comfortable. The large beach front yard was great for relaxing and enjoying the fantastic scene. Beach was very nice, too.
other than the on-property's kids having a party at the empty house next door two nights in a row and using our outdoor bathroom, things were wonderful and i am absolutely planning on coming again.

I have taken over 10 trips to Hawaii in the past 8 years and once i discovered how much better it is to rent a vacation home than to do the entire stay in Waikiki, i was hooked! I stayed at the Aloha BeachHouse with 3 of my best friends and it was PERFECT. The house was very well kept and plenty spacious. It was a dream to wake up there every morning. The backyard is HUGE, with picnic benches and hammocks and the most BEAUTIFUL VIEWS I'VE EVER SEEN. Perfectly located with a short drive into Haleiwa, which has great food littering the main street. Also had a short drive to all the best North Shore surf and turtle watching beaches. GREAT VIEWS THERE TOO = ) Overall, This was the most perfect home and setting i could've ever imagined and we had an excellent time. Barbequed, tanned, took long walks on the virtually private beach and snorkeled, all right in our backyard! I WOULD STAY THERE A MILLION MORE TIMES.
The only thing I would add is there needs to be an extra mirror in the bathroom.
The owners aren't responsible for this, but it could have been a lot cleaner. The bedding in particular was in pretty bad shape and not clean. I had to wash them myself.
