- South Shore 43 -

Elegant, mid-century modern home in prime Honolulu location. South Shore 43 has three bedrooms, two full bathrooms, and incredible ocean views. Multiple sliding doors along the ocean side take full advantage of the sunrise views and balmy trade winds. The covered lanai serves as a second, outdoor living room and dining space. Other features include a six person Jacuzzi, central air conditioning, wi-fi throughout, and a game area with ping pong table. The home was designed by famed architect Vladimir Ossipoff, and is an exceptional example of Tropical Modernism. This is a private house, no other home, tenant or caretaker is on this property. Sleeps a total of 10 guests, please see below for a detailed description of the bedrooms.

- The Beach -

The spacious yard is lined with swaying palms, and sits along a tranquil private beach. The water is calm and shallow. Stand up boarding and kayaking are excellent here, and you may find yourself paddling alongside schools of fish, manta rays, sea turtles and even dolphins. To swim simply put on reef shoes and walk past the coral until you reach deep water. Fishing is great from the shallow coral area. In summer season you can surf here at the break known as "Secrets". South Shore 43 is located directly next door to South Shore 35, the homes can be rented together by large groups in need of an estate.

- The Neighborhood -

Hawaii Kai is an upscale residential neighborhood in eastern Honolulu. It is very safe and family friendly. Nearby you will find plenty of grocery stores, including Whole Foods and Costco, drug stores, boutiques, casual dining and upscale restaurants. Haunama Bay is a few minutes down the street for snorkeling. Other nearby activities include hiking, parasailing, jet skiing, hang gliding, and golfing. The home is located close to major highway access so is a convenient starting point for day trips. Waikiki is 7 miles away, the airport is 13 miles, and Pearl Harbor 30.

    We loved the place! Great location, clean and big enough for everyone. Only downside was the air conditioning did not work so had to use all the fans during the day when we were inside for the newborn. Overall a good experience.

    We had multiple things that were broken with the house with little to none assistance. The dishwasher did not work, the coffee machine did not work, the AC did not work, etc.

      The coffee maker worked. The ac worked. The dishwasher worked. The client contacted management and stated that she called 10 times with no assistance, after a thorough search of phone records we were able to prove that she called half that amount, every call she made was answered, and every message left after business hours was responded to promptly . The client was very unhappy that she was not able to check in early, and thereafter spent the majority of her Hawaiian vacation making complaints that were false. 1. The a/c works - the client called to complain that the a/c did not work, when it fact the client could not figure out how to turn it on. This has never been an issue before. The client called the office, we walked her through the one step process of turning it on, and that "fixed" it. We did not feel this entitled her to money back. 2. There was a working coffee maker in the kitchen her entire stay: a coffee maker had broken when the previous guests were there and we replaced it within an hour, but the cleaners did not throw out the old one. So a working machine was there, but the guest called to complain that the 2nd coffee maker was not working. We dd not feel this entitled her to money back. 3. The dishwasher worked for the guests prior to this reservation, the dishwasher worked for the cleaning staff there prior to this reservation, the dishwasher worked for the cleaning staff following this reservation, the dishwasher worked for the guests there following this reservation. The guest did not make a complaint about the dishwasher until after she had checked out. We had the dishwasher repaired twice in the last year, something mentioned in reviews. When it acted up again in February we replaced the dishwasher, it is less than a month old and it works perfectly. 4. The guest did not mention that she left behind a broken window and a damaged garage door.
