  This is the perfect location to relax and unwind. The property fronts the beach with easy access to a beautiful snorkelling area that is full of wildlife. Our first morning we walked out to find 3 or 4 Turtles up on the beach. The house itself is set out perfectly for a family, the views from the main bedroom and the lounge room are fantastic. The kitchen is large and very functional.
  
  The only small downsides are that the pool is a reflection pool, not a swimming pool, and that one of the neighbours keeps very odd hours and seems intent on letting the neighbourhood know it. Neither of these are enough to stop us going back, which we hope to do in the future.

  Our family had a fantastic experience in the Wave House. I was amazed to find out it was designed by well known Canadian Architect Arthur Erikson, who has designed various iconic buildings on the West Coast of Canada. The open concept living area that opened right up to the outdoors was perfect for our vacation, and the backyyard was big enough to give us space for the kids to play soccer and games. The beach was always quiet, just a few locals around, and the Green Sea Turtles were a constant source of interest. The beach is safe here, nice for kids, with lots of coral to look at. It was a nice quiet area, located on a narrow lane, in a residential part of town, so very peaceful and away from crowds. Apart from a couple minor issues with the house, this was an outstanding property.

  Loved the house and the location. Very comfortable. We also had perfect weather. The house had everything we needed including a lush lawn and fine sandy beach. All the turtles on the beach was fun to observe as well. Two suggestions: Only one frying pan which made it a challenge when trying to cook a couple dishes at once. An additional blind in the street side bedroom. The street light is right outside the window.
  I plan on returning soon!!!

  The location was absolutely perfect! Gorgeous white sand beach with a safe area to swim with the turtles. The landscaping around the house was so well manicured with gorgeous plants and flowers.
  There were a few minor inconveniences like the refrigerator door not wanting to stay shut causing fluctuations in temperature. Another was the very shallow pool which is more like a water feature, I don't think the house should be advertised as having a pool.
  Overall, the house was clean, comfortable and beautiful. I would definitely recommend this beach house to anyone looking for an awesome beachfront experience.

  Incredible house in an ideal location. Almost had the beach to ourselves, which was just steps from our backdoor. We swam with turtles and had great snorkeling. The house is very modern, private and secure. We had five guests and were very comfortable.

  We have 3 young children 3-6 yrs. It was a fantastic place to stay. Heaps of things for the kids to do and the beach was amazing (we all especially loved the turtles).
  The house was immaculate and very comfortable. We would recommend this property to anyone, just remember to hire a car as it can be difficult to get around from there using public transport.

  This is Hawaii at it's best. My best friends and I go every year and stay on the same stretch of beach. It is private and couldn't be more perfect. This is truely the best way to experience true Hawaii. The home is georgous and so well kept. All the necessary amenities are there from the kitchen to the beach toys. I wish the privacy bushes were cut lower so that the ocean was visible from the lawn area but there is something to be said for the seclusion. The backyard area is very large and even has a shower outside for rinsing off. The grounds keeper, Andre, is wonderful and the property is so well taken care of. The construction on both sides was off-putting but it won't last forever. I would definately stay here again in a heartbeat. It was a dream vacation.

    Thank you for the comment, and the chance to clarify the following: We don't provide bicycles or kayaks at any of our homes due to liability issues, though often past guests leave water toys behind. The washing machine is working, please see the instructions posted in the laudry area. The pool is an architectural detail, not for swimming. The guest was here during a bout of uncommonly windy and rainy weather, which affected his stay. We are sorry for the troubles, and hope you are able to come back under better circumstances!

  We have rented on the north shore about a dozen times - always beachfront. This place is in a great location with a virtually private beach. Nice snorkeling and lots of turtles. Sheltered by reef - so easy for kids to swim, but very, very limited surfing options out front. One of the nicest Northshore houses we've stayed in - great living room/kitchen area. Interesting architecture. In excellent condition given how hard the ocean is on houses and much more refined inside compared to other places. Quiet street - not on the highway like many of the beachfront properties around Haliewa. As of November 2010, there is construction on the adjacent property with a new house. Wasn't much of an issue with us given the stage of construction at that time.
  
  There are only 2 bedrooms, though one of them could sleep 4 people, so I would only recommend 2 couples or 1 family of 5 or fewer. Will plan on returning unless someone decides to purchase (on the market for $3.4).

  Totally awesome. Just a couple of minor things on cleanliness. There was a slightly leaky toilet and some dishes left in the dishwasher and a towel in the dryer. But the place was better than what I expected by a bout a thousand times. I got to si with turtles every day in my back yard and Halewa down the road was great and the neighbours were wonderful. I will definately go back.

  A lot of little things conspired to draw attention away from how amazing this property was; stove that was difficult to start; ants; water on the floor after heavy rains; slow drains; low water pressure; tepid hot water; a missing bed!
  To their credit, the management company addressed as many of these issues as they could during our stay, but I wish the owners would overhaul what is otherwise a gorgeous facility.

  We loved the house and wish we could buy it, but the asking price is a little high. Anyways, we did have two minor let downs. The Hot Tub was freezing cold and would not heat up even when turning the temp all the way up. The floor also seemed dirty. Of course it is a beach house so that could be expected. Overall it was a great rental and we will be back .

  The house was beautiful, comfortable and the landscaping was gorgeous with a gorgeous view and wonderfully private beach. The reflecting pool was perplexing. When constructing the pool why not just make it a 4-5 foot pool for swimmng? It was nice for my 2 year old but really unusable for adults except to play with the 2 year old. And it wasn't easy for the 2 year old to get in and out of the pool the house was not really for kids but was comfortable for him anyway.
  Also the hot tub never got past barely lukewarm. Even though the handyman showed up and said he called it in we were never able to use it so it was disappointing.
  The neighbor on the East would make unusual, jarring, abrupt, unknown various noises at 4AM - 5AM almost everyday of our 15 night stay. Some days it would be opera blasting, other days clanging, or banging, or slamming. It was bizarre and very annoying. They must be returning from work at that time but why so noisy?
  The beach was truly wonderful and private and we saw turtles every single day with lots of fish in the reef. Nice little surf spots and beautiful sunsets. Waialua/Mokuleia is THE PLACE TO STAY on Oahu for privacy and tranquility (except for that 5AM neighbor!).
  The true sunlight in this glass house is very nice and the view of the yard and ocean from the master bedroom is ideal. The enclosed porches off the bedrooms were very enjoyable for relaxing and reading.
  The Farmers Market on Saturday at 8:30 is great (go early for best selection).
  Story time at 10AM on Saturday at the Waialua Library is fun for the kids.
  We LOVE NORTH SHORE and Waialua/Mokuleia.

  The plumbing in the house was not in good working order. We had to have someone out to fix the kitchen faucet because the water wasn't coming out of it at all. One on sinks upstairs in MB had pressure problems as well. Although the property was beautiful the fruit trees left a mess all over the entrance and outside decks. We could not get the hottub to heat up. Had to call management company to have the gas tank filled on the barbecue as it was empty. It took 2 days to get the gas for the cue but the plumber responded quickly. You can't argue with the setting and it did help you overlook other short comings. The beach was lovely!

  Overall very, very satisified with the house. Just a few minor items, a few of the light bulbs were burnt out, the 2nd bedroom a/c remote was inop and the unpstairs tv kept turning off, i don't know if it was the cable or the tv itself. Also the the right burner on the grill would not light up, but these were very little items that didn't bother our stay at all. Just a few items to address for the next family that stays. My family and I loved the house and we would absolutely rent that home again.

  The Wave House was great! We have young children and loved the grassy backyard for them to play in as well as all the beach stuff the house had already at it for us to borrow! It even had bikes for us to ride. The home was very clean and the kitchen was stocked with everything but groceries so you could easily prepare snakes and meals if you wanted too. The best part was the views and sound of the ocean you can hear all day and night! When I show friends photos of our trip, everry one asks wow how did you get to stay "There", was it really expensive? For all that you get we felt to price was very fair! When we go to Hawaii again we would stay here again, it was truely a great and wonderful experience.

  We had a wonderful memorable stay. Loved the house and the location. I did find some items missing such as keys and cleaning supplies. The cleaning supplies became an issue when we were asked to let the house be shown to an agent. The second garage door opener didn't work. Not big items, but given how the contract read I did worry that we might be charged for the missing keys. The missing keys also meant that we all had to stay together or be back to let the rest of us in. All in all we would ablsolutely do it again.

  Love love love the house, location and what this has to offer, which is why we cannot wait to go back in less than 5 days from submitting this review; Amanda at HBHomes is super helpful and sincerly accomodating, love her! My only gripe is that the actual condition of the property itself was not spotless, it was clean, don't get me wrong - but at the minimal, i.e., lanai outside of master bedroom specifically by the windows had debris surrounding parameters; lanai outside of 2nd bedroom was not broomswept; cabana leading to private beach was totally not clean and we had to hose this off, shower in cabana was something i would never feel comfortable using so we skipped using this, period; hot-tub was def. something i would never get into, nice feature if it was completely clean and pristine, but did not feel comfortable w/ condition; other than that, we love the house and location of this property, love the privacy it has to offer. Additional issue was there as per check-in instructions, there was only 1 remote to garage instead of 2, and the only 1 remote was BROKEN, so they had to send a handyman to fix it, who was completely on the shady side and asked us for a tip or if we had any cash, which made us feel uncomfortable; the pool guy showed up randomly while we were napping in the master, so we had no idea at all of his schedule or that he was arriving. These are things I will address upon check-in and review of the house when we arrive, those 2 factors really bothered me more than the cleanliness aforementioned, but we return to renting this property b/c it is a fantastic house on a fantastic location...could def. be better if those issues were addressed.
