  The drive up there was a beautiful long road with greenery everywhere, a nice relaxing intro. Ours was one of only 5 or so of the cottages right on the water. There's a patio we ate breakfast on, then a 10 foot strip if grass, then a 20 foot strip of beach, then all ocean. Beautiful just like the pics. The home was open and has nice typical Hawaiian light-green decorating. Nice bed with cool drapes. A few bugs but I'm sure that's typical of a beach house in Hawaii. It was cool being greeted on the first day by a little lizard though, though he never returned. The staff was great, like a idiot I left my laptop there and they had it returned to me within 3 days. Thanks! But a classic hawaii beach home, DON'T GET SOME 10th FLOOR HOTEL ROOM DOWNTOWN! this is the classic & best way to experience Hawaii I think. It's a little isolated gated community that feels safe & sorta in the country. But are u going to Hawaii to go clubbing or to relax?

  We booked this property after our first choice was unavailable and it worked out great! First, you have to know it is not close to the main town with shops, etc so you must have a car to get back and forth. The cottage itself was clean with everything we needed. The only complaints we have is the bbq was charcoal and there was non onsite so we had to return to a store to buy some. Second, we never did find out the wireless password. The cottage has a wonderful patio and we spent every evening out there enjoying the sunset and watching the sea turtles!

  My family rented a house right up the beach for my wedding... I needed a quiet place to relax, and get some good sleep.. And I DID! The bed is so comfortable,, and all you hear in the morning is the ocean and some birds... the towels were pristine white and new.. and even tho i didnt use it,, the kitchen was stocked with everything you need to cook a great meal!

  My husband and I enjoyed our stay at The Sand Dollar Cottage. The cottage could use an update, the bathroom needs remodeling. We did not like the plastic cover on the mattress. It causes you to wake up all sweaty every night. On a positive note the beach was beautiful and so close!

  My husband is extremely reserved when it comes to saying things are good, or great or, in this case, outstanding. The cottage was everything the online site said it would be and more. We were so close to the water; it was amazing. We woke up every morning to the waves and the sunlight. We loved that it had every amenity that we could think of. Overall, excellent, outstanding, fantastic place! Highly recommended especially for the price!

  We had a great time for 7 days at this location. Had a great ocean view and just had to walk a short distance to get to the beach. The unit was clean, and had all the kitchen appliances needed and plenty of towels. Waialua was a short drive down the road and Haleiwa was just down the road. Would definitely stay at the Sand Dollar again and would recommend it. Two things to keep in mind: 1) it is basically one large living area with a curtain separating the queen bed from the two double beds; 2) the couch and two chairs aren't that comfortable - but how much time are you going to spend watching TV?

  The unit is in need of an upgrade and had to share food with the ants but hey, who spends time inside anyway. The outside grounds and facilities were very nice, well maintained and the location was amazing. It was very safe, quiet, and perfect for a relaxing get away. Snorkel and sun were a few steps away and it was just a short drive to Hale'iwa and other beaches and surf spots. Great value, and perfect if you spend most of your time outside...

  Excellent location - away from the crowds with miles of deserted beaches. Lots of activities to watch from the lanai, such as kite surfers and people parachuting.

  We loved the location and privacy of the beach.. great snorkling.. We were dismayed to find that tho' the online ad said "air conditioning", there was none. It was a very hot week.. Also, we arrived at night and the location of the rental was hidden so well we had to wake up two neighbors to find it and gain entry.. overall, we enjoyed our honeymoon there very much.

  Overall, like our last stay, a good experience. Just a couple of negatives:
  
  
  
  1) The laundry is located at the far end of the site; would have preferred a portable in home unit.
  
  2) The restriction laundry room hours from 8 to 8. This left our laundry taken hostage for the night and actually forced us to move a business meeting the next morning to accommodate pick up.

  I had a great stay at Three Palms. The property is older, including furniture, but it is all functional. The beach location was awesome. The property managers were extremely helpful and readily available. I would stay there again.
