  We very much enjoyed our vacation at the Coral House. Quiet, beachfront, North Shore location, just what we were looking for. The house and the yard were clean and ready for us. Directions from the management company were clear and accurate and we had no problems finding and entering the property. The kitchen is adequately appointed, I would recommend having the kitchen knives sharpened, we tried with the steel provided without success. Very hard to cook without sharp knives. On the other hand, I LOVED having the washer/dryer and the brand new BBQ was terrific. My 27yr old son was glad to see the flat screen for SportsCenter and we used the WiFi several times. :) Haleiva is a nice little town with a great Sushi place, not within walking distance, but it does have most everything you would need. Also, I would like to note that the management company was very easy to work with. We fished from the beach, boogie boarded, surfed and stood in the waves and watched the turtles, not to mention just sitting in the deck chairs watching the surfers, divers and sunrise/sunsets. It was wonderful.

  My wife and I alongwith another couple had an enjoyable stay at this cozy little home on the North Shore. The directions and key retrieval information was quite simple.
  
  The home is a little dated but its location is superb. We enjoyed a comfy few days relaxing, swimming, sunning and venturing into Waialua. Falling asleep to the waves every night is something this place delivers brilliantly.

  We found this home to be a wonderful place to stay during our Hawai'i Vacation! We were there for 7 nights, which went by way too quickly. Unfortunately, the weather was out of the norm from what we have experienced in our previous trips to the Islands. However, the rain did not deter us from enjoying our stay...we just planned (and replanned) around Mother Nature. The location of the house is great as it sits right on the ocean and makes for very relaxing evenings. The house is in good shape, overall. Unfortunately, the previous group must have accidently taken the remote control to the security gate which meant we had to use the keypad each time we left.. but no big deal. We would recommend this home to anyone who wants to stay on the North Shore of Oahu.

  Our family had a fantastic stay in the Coral Home. The location was outstanding. We couldn't get over the view from the house and how close the house was located to the beach. This house is crying out for a lovely deck though, so that guests can enjoy siting outside in a little more comfort. We enjoyed snorkeling with the turtles. You couldn't really swim in the ocean directly in front of the house, but you could 100m down the beach. We would thoroughly recommend this property and location to anyone wanting to stay on the North Shore of Oahu.

  A very well thought of beach house. Clean, functional and well equipped. Bathrooms and kitchen have doors to outside access so you won't be tracking in water or sand from the outside. Safe, secure, peaceful except for the sound of the waves, the chirping birds and the rooster crowing in the morning. Stock up on groceries because you wouldn't want to leave the place. Open fridge from the seams. Handle keeps on coming off.Excellent accomodations for the price of dinky hotel room in a 4 or 5 star hotel in Honolulu.

  I have to admit after reading some of the reviews I had low expectations. But I am happy to report almost all of the reported problems have been corrected--like new stairs leading down to the beach, new lawn chairs and picnic table in the back yard, fresh coat of paint on the house. We arrived at 2:30, and the cleaning lady was just finishing up and she left it freshly scrubbed and smelling clean! Having a kitchen and washer/dryer was a lifesaver. Waking up to the sound of waves each morning was heavenly. Living on the beach for a week--wonderful. The house is a little drive from the town, but we found another route that eliminated all the speed bumps, so that made it better. We felt safe with the house behind a couple of locked gates. The house is nothing fancy, but perfectly fine. Added bonus--lots and lots of fresh towels to use in the house and on the beach. No need to pack bulky towels in the suitcase. The kitchen had what you needed, plates, glasses, pots/pans, silverware. The grill out back needed a little cleaning and changing out gas tanks before we could use it, but not too much trouble. The shed full of water shoes, snorkle equipment, sand toys, etc. was another bonus. We only left the north shore for a day of Pearl Harbor and swap meet. Other than that, we found plenty to see and do along the North Shore and on to Laie. One more thing. . . working with the folks at Hawaii Beach Homes was great--always quick to respond to questions, etc. I would highly recommend them. In fact, the original home we were trying to rent was booked, so they recommended this one, and we are so glad they did. We loved it!

  We've been to Honolulu to visit family many times usually staying in Waikiki or Kahala, but this rental gave us the opportunity to have our family stay with us in a relaxing enviroment. We had a lovely time, excellent views. When we had problems with the keypad the rental agency answered the phone immediately and gave us a solution.
  We never found the buckets that the owners mentioned for us to put at the doors to rinse off our feet, but there were hoses readily available. We were surprised to find there was no AC, but the ceiling fans and sea breezes kept us comfortably cool. We will consider renting this house again. Cheers and aloha.

  I would recommend letting guests know that they should avoid the late morning hours for a walk on the beach if they wish to avoid the nude sunbathers/swimmers to the west...or whatever direction is left when you get to the bottom of the stairs. :o) Loved the location!!

  We had an amazing three days in this home. Wish we could have booked more days. It was perfect! Awesome location. Two locked gates made me feel safe. (Not used to all the "Beware of theft" signs we noted throughout Hawaii, it was a bit unnerving. But this home was a safe haven. A peaceful, tranquil, unbelievably beautiful place. Very comfortable and clean. We saw turtles right out front every day and the guys surfed daily within view of the deck. The local surfers were friendly and helpful with directions to get out over the rocks safely. It was not crowded on the line up at all. We can't wait to come back. We will book farther in advance next time to ensure a longer stay!!

  Some suggestions to make things a little better: properly colored garbage bins. We were unsure of what bin the recycling went in. The DVD player either isn't plugged in or needs replacing. It has such a loud hum you have to mute the sound and use captioning. "Blue Hawaii" with Elvis wasn't the same.

  When you reach the location, all you wanna do is run to the back and check out the beach and its beauty. You look in both directions and all you can do is cry because you are finally there and it's going to be the best visit on Ohau.
  The house is perfect, locked gate, beach, sand, etc....
  The gas bbq wasn't working, so we used the charcoal bbq, but be careful. The handle is broken (burnt finger).

  We had a wonderful holiday and I would recommend this place to anyone that wants to have a relaxed beach front vacation. There is no way anyone could complain about this beach shack. It is in a perfect location and the waves are so loud that it's hard to hear the TV, but who wants to watch TV while vacationing in a beach house? There were so many beach toys that my 1 yr old 3yr old were always occupied. The staff helped to organize activities.

  The home was in a great location--within 40 minutes of most areas we visited during our stay on the island. The realator should consider discarding the broken beach and patio furniture in the shed and replacing with at least some type of outdoor seating. A picnic table was anticipated from the pictures provided, but none was at the home. Perhaps a card table could be provided for outdoor activities instead. Both vacuum cleaners were in poor condition. A broom vac would do nicely on the hardwood areas rather than the rusted dust pan and cardboard box taped to a stick that was left for us to use.

  Myself, my wife, and another couple rented the Coral House from April 5th-11th. All four of us loved it. Another group of friends (who lived on Oahu) got married at another beach house down teh block. It was perfect. There were wales breaching every morning that we could watch while eating breakfast! Surfers too! We arrived much earlier than expected to the house and dropped off our stuff and left so the cleaning folks could do their job and they were very forgiving and understanding. We loved it and in 3 years for my 5th wedding anivsry we will be going back. I hope the house is open then. The house it great for 2 couples or a family. 2 indoor bathrooms are perfect!

  If you are into simplicity, privacy and million dollar views the coral home is just what you have been looking for. It's in as good a shape as you could expect for a house that is located no more than fifty feet from the breaking surf. It could use a little outside paint detail, but the inside is almost perfect.
  We saw turtles, whales and surfers from the back yard overlook and in the evening the constant sound of the surf breaking and the soft breeze usually had you to sleep in a short time.
  The only difficulty we had with our stay was leaving.
  Don't worry about bringing water toys and picnic equipment, they have a storage room full.
  We had a split vacation with part of the time on the north shore and part on the south shore just to see which impressed us the most. For me I wish we had had stayed in the Coral home the entire time and driven down to see the high points at other locations on the island, not to say that the north end doesn't have it's share. Hawaii Beach Homes will furnish you with a long list of thigs to do. all you need Is time and money. We did all we could do in two weeks. (don't miss the shark cage and the gliders)

  The location cannot be beat. It is right on the water as advertised. The house is a little worse for wear and could use some general maintenance. The only complaints that I have are the master room tub and the internet. The tub did not drain and was a disgusting mess after every shower. The internet could be wireless. It would cost fifty bucks for a wireless router and everyone in the house could use it simultanously. I would stay here again and would recommend it to my friends. Be aware that bugs are part of the Hawaiin life so don't leave ANY food out or the ants will be there. I loved the location and the view. I saw many turtles and did some snorkeling. I would recommend splurging and buying your own snorkel set as the ones in the shed are pretty worn out and difficult to see through.

  We really enjoyed our stay in North Shore Hawaii. Perfect location - pretty undeveloped - just a lovely village/town at Halweiwa. THe cottage was right on the beach with spectacular views. Cottage itself was spacious, but a bit run down and rather basic in terms of amenities. Getting the windows cleaned would have enhanced the view further! Overall though we really enjoyed our time and would return.

  This place was exactly what we were looking for and more. Before we even entered the front door we became excited by the sounds of the ocean. And once inside the view of the ocean is absolutely spectacular. The degree of privacy is terrific, with your own backyard, bbq, and hammock. An additional bonus is the activity room loaded with everything you'll need for fun in the sun. We're definitely coming back for another visit.

  I would have liked a better "walking" beach - the slope here made it tough to take those morning strolls. Also, you could do a better job with the directions, particularly around the key pad for gate - mention the 22 speed bumps then the bank of mailboxes and that the key pad is with the mailboxes. You also might want to let guests know that the remote for the gate is in the house and can be used during their stay. The house was lovely, though tub in master bedroom fills with water, it was just a bit far away from everything for me.

  This house was exactly what we were looking for. Beach right outside the front door, enough space, private, and clean. I looked forward every morning to having my coffee overlooking the ocean, seeing the rainbows as the sun peaked over the clouds and watching the sea turtle heads bob above the water. It was perfect! Will definetly rent again.

  I thought the location of the Coral House was excellent. I also liked the ammenities like laundry soap and a fully stocked kitchen (conditments, pots and pans, etc.) The house was clean and neat. My only negative comment is the furniture. The beds were adequate and the bedding was okay but the living room furniture needs to be replaced with comfortable and clean couches and chairs.
  I plan to rebook this house for next year!

  Really GREAT house! Perfect for our family and our needs. Home is in good shape but the grounds are a tad shabby- although its hard to notice given the beachfront location. Directions from town and move-in are more complicated than needed. Truly picture perfect otherwise. Great neighbors and we were there with the hawaiian monk seals- amazing!

  We all loved this home and how close it was to the ocean. Lots of sea turtles and got a special gift when a monk seal had a baby a few houses down from us, it was fun to see how fast it grew in a few days. House was very clean and stayed nice and cool.   We had a great week. The only glitch was entering the first gate. The code did not open it, so we pushed hard and it opened. The remote control that was left for us worked great. Also the double sliding doors did not latch properly. We locked the screen doors together and used the sticks on the floor to lock-up whenever we left. Mahalo.

  The Homes location was very peaceful and quiet, located within a privated gated area. Over our entire stay, the key pad for the gate never worked but the remote worked well. Minor issues with a door latch and slow plumbing in one bathroom did not hinder out stay. The house stayed at a very comfortable temperature the entire time due to a great cross breeze and im saying this having never stayed in a house without A/C. Sightings of turtles were common and a few whales were sighted as well, it was a nice treat in the morning. Plenty of ammenities like chairs and body boards were a nice touch. Swimming and snorkeling were very nice but make sure you bring some type of water shoes, the rocks are sharp in the water. The hammock in the yard was used often by all of us and rainbows were a common sight. This is our second house rented thru Hawai'i Beach Homes and we plan on using them again. Both the places we rented we used homes with normal wear but well maintained and generally a pleasure to stay in, much better than a hotel, you'll fell like you're at home and wont have the hassel of parking problems, elevators, crowds, loud guests and other common hotel issues.   This was a fabulous vacation home! In fact, this was the best mix of location, property, and ammenities. The only thing that kept me from rating it absolutely perfect was a small issue with the key code on the security gate not working when we first arrived. It was late at night and we had to manually force the gate. Other than that, everything couldn't have been better.

  We loved the location of this beach house. The beach was perfect. Quiet neighborhood. This is an older house. We think they need new artwork as not everyone wants to see naked pictures- especially when bringing children with you. Love falling asleep to the waves. We would stay here again.   Lovely, simple beachside home. Lovely area. Only difficulty was in arriving and accessing the house for the first time. There isn't adequate lighting at the gate at the street leading to the house and the gate is very difficult to work with the remote. It sometimes takes 10 tries! Hard to manage upon first arrival! There need to be some exterior lights on at the house itself as well, if guests are arriving at night. The info on the house says to bring a flashlight, but that's barely adequate to accomplish the task of entering the house.

  This property was not as pristine and ready for guests as other properties with Hawaii Beach Homes has been. Patios doors didn't work, shower were dirty, lawn chairs broke, floors needed repairs. We love Hawaii and renting a house on the ocean is paradise for us even if only for a week or two.
