  I flew my family in for my retirement from the Navy. The house at Laniakea was awesome! It was great waking up in the morning, grabbing a cup of coffee, sitting on the lanai, and watching the surfers. My nephews really got a kick out of seeing all the turtles everyday and we even had one sun himself on the beach. I highly recommend staying here or at another Hawaii Beach Homes property!

  my wife and I held our wedding at this property, and it was perfect! we had family and friends in town ranging in age from 10-78 and this property had something for everyone! the detached game room and seperate studio were especially useful in entertaining our younger guests, as well as for our guests who kept later hours. we had 15 people staying at the house for 2 of the nights we stayed, and there was plenty of space for everyone to feel comfortable. the abundance of sea turtles playing in the ocean everyday was a very pleasant surprise! we will definately be returning to this property for future family gatherings!

Only a few suggestions: a ceiling fan is needed in the back studio bedroom, instructions on how to keep the hot tub maintained; toward end of stay the water was getting gunky; and plastic glasses for outside would be nice.   This place is great... Located on our favorite beach on Oahu. After we hit Costco for provisions, we never had to leave for the week. Ring your snorkel gear to swim with the sea turtles.

  We stayed for 5 days in April. We wished we could have stayed MUCH longer. Loved seeing the sea turtles swim by everyday, and we could see whales off in the distance. The location is ideal. This house has something for everyone, nice beach and gameroom for the kids, studio bedroom in back for the loud snorer, plenty of room, big dining room table. Our family of 13 never felt crowded and just loved our whole stay. Sitting on the deck, so close to the beach, and enjoying the view was paradise. We would choose to stay in this home again.

  We stayed with another family and the home was spacious enough for 5 adults and 7 children. Laniakea Beach was great and being surfers, couldn't have been in a better spot with 5 breaks within walking distance. The kitchen was user friendly. The living space well laid out well for a private nap or a communla gathering and some charades. The game room off the main house was perfect for some ping pong and air hockey with a nice TV and sitting area. Outdoor showers were key. The stairs to the beach need some repair. Should work on a better entrance for hot tub to mitigate sand and dirt. The outdoor shower cleaned us off well enough but the dirt from the deck made for a dirty spa. Overall excellent home. We plan on returning.

  Our family of 17 included my mother, brother and wife with 2 teenage boys, sister & hubby, another sister and hubby, another brother and wife with 8 year-old and 2 year-old daughters, me and my hubby, and his sister and; hubby.
  
  17 of us and we didn't feel cramped! One sister and hubby decided to sleep in the game room even though it was a separate building without a bathroom, which meant that they had to come to the main house to use the bathroom in the middle of the night, but they didn't mind.
  
  The bedroom with the king bed and 2 twin beds was perfect for my brother's family. It was a nice size with their own bathroom and TV, so the nephews could escape the family if they wanted to.
  
  The separate studio with the queen bed and twin bed was perfect for my other brother's family. They also had their own bathroom and because it had a separate entrance, they were able to have privacy when wanted, and we didn't have to hear the baby cry. (The baby slept in a portable playpen-type bed that the house provided.)
  
  We gave my mom the room with the king bed, which was spacious and had a 1/2 bath with the shower outside. That wasn't so ideal for my mom because people in the backyard could look into the shower if they tried because it was only enclosed with a fence that an adult could look over if they wanted to. For any other couple, this is probably the best room in the house because it has a large sliding glass door facing the deck and ocean. (We gave this room to my mom because because of the private 1/2 bath.)
  
  For a shared bedroom, my husband and I, and his sister and hubby had the best room! We had a sliding glass door that opened directly onto the deck facing the ocean and got to sleep with the sound of the crashing waves and rustle of palm leaves every night. We slept like babies with the breeze through the open door and the gentle movement of air provided by the ceiling fan.

  The Laniakea is a lovely home in a beautiful location on the North Shore! It was a wonderful place to spend Thanksgiving week! Since there were only 6 of us, we had plenty of space. The deck was wonderful! Views of everything and plenty of space to lounge, eat, etc.. You really don't have to leave once you get there as long as you are stocked up with provisions. You will need everything, There was salt and pepper,however.
  I suggest bringing beach towels as there were only 5 for 6 of us and directions were not to use bath towels.
  The property managers were very responsive and helpful in helping us get hooked up with wifi and getting propane for the BBQ. All in all, this is a beautiful, comfortable home in an amazing location. Did i mention the beach is fantastic as well?! This place is hard to beat.

  Group of five women. Had a marvelous time. Staying beachfront on North Shore....doesn't get any better than that. Big waves came in and surfers right out of our house.   If you want to stay on the north shore, this house is ideal. The location is great, although when we were there the sand on the beach in front of the house had washed away so it was rather rocky. I was told by a neighbor that the sand comes and goes. We saw lots of turtles in and out of the water. We had some minor maintenence problems that were immediately addressed by the management. Although there were only three of us, the house is large and could easily accommodate a large group.

  We stayed for 7 days. Our family consisted of 7 Adults, 2 teenagers and 2 6yr olds and we had room to spare with us all staying in the main house.
  Inside: the kitchen has everything you will need; the baths are fantastic with plenty of towels, TP etc… (The outdoor shower was a big hit with our group), the beds were all very comfortable with nice clean linen, the living area is comfy and roomy, the dining table held all adults easily, and the internet and TV worked great.
  Outside: The deck is fantastic; we spent the majority of our time here. The grill worked great. The kids spend most of their time in the Jacuzzi. We nice breaks a short paddle from our beach and since we were there during the summer, the surf was not big which was great for those of us that are not hard core. Plus, this also meant that our 6yr olds could play in the surf and snorkel off the beach without the danger of strong currents.
  Location is perfect and just a couple minutes from Haleiwa and Waimea.
  We all plan to come back to this house for our next visit.

  We had 4 adults, 7 teenagers & 1 6yr old. It was wonderful for everyone. Even the hard to please teens had a great time and came back early from other committments with friends for the boogie boarding, swimming, jacuzzi, gameroom, turtles. The kitchen was well stocked with supplies and utensils, dinnerware, pots, etc. 2 refrigerators were extremely helpful. The ocean current is strong, so not so good for the 6yr old, but great for surfing. The beach is sandy and great for the 6yr old and the playful teens. Service with booking, etc. was excellent.

  This house could not have been in a better location. The beach in front of the house was beautiful. Every day we would play in the sand and swim with the sea turtles and at night I would fall asleep to the sound of the ocean.
  
  The house could use a bit of maintenance. The hot tub was a bit dirty and the dryer stopped working. However, I would stay there again in a minute because the location and the beach made up for it.
  
  My whole family loved the stay and it was the time of our life.

  A couple of comments... 1. the lock combinations were kind of frustrating. The locks all had different combinations, the doors did not remain unlocked, and with various adults in the home - we found ourselves driving around with cheat sheets. 2. there was maintenance being performed on the property after 3 pm (our actual check in time) and the following day one of the workers returned to do some carpentry on the side yard adjacent to the game room while we were there. Needless to say, the router and saw overpowered our willingness to hang out in that room.
  
  Some other small items - the deck has some dry rot and therefore has many loose and rusty screws sticking up. I found myself constantly pushing them down so as to avoid the kids knicking themselves. Great house - but the combination of these items listed took away from our overall experience.

  We had a wonderful stay at this home. There was plenty of room for the ten people in our party and we enjoyed the quality of the home. The location was incredible. Our boys were able to surf directly out from Laniakea (April, 2010, and the turtles swimming in the water and resting on the beach each day were incredible. The hot tub was a lovely way to relax after a day of exploring the North Shore. We have wonderful memories of our five days there.

  The only issue was a new lock put on the gate at the driveway. Arrived late and had to call for assistance from property manager. Received a call from owner the following morning apologising--nice touch.
  
  Aside from that, the house, location and the condition was as close to perfect as one could reasonably expect.

  Excellent trip due to the fabulous beachside location and great house. Even the tsunami evacuation was an adventure. The only downside was that the bbq grill gas ran out and management didn't respond; but overall a great value and we would definitely come back.

  It would be hard to beat the stunning views of this beach house. It is truly on the beach - just a dozen steps down to the sand. Surfers are out daily for your viewing pleasure and expect to meet a green turtle or two walking down the shore. Sara, Amanda and Dee over at Hawaii Beach Homes are first rate.   OMG....Loved our stay at Lanikea. We were here for our son's wedding, which was at the Turtle Bay resort, and Lanikea was a perfect place for our family and guests to stay. Even with a bit of rain the 1st couple of days, we so enjoyed the beach and the house was very comfortable and relaxing. Nothing like having a great beach to see and hear right off of the master bedroom. (Quite literally.)Loved the hottub and enclosed outside shower. Our guests had such an awesome experience on feeling an "old time" Hawaiian atmosphere with modern conviniences. The staff was extremely helpful and personable. Hawaii Beach homes should be proud of their staff (Amanda,Sara, and housekeepers.) I would recommend not only this property but company to any future guests. We come to Hawaii fairly often and I can tell you that we will only be using Hawaii Beach Homes for any future stays. Many thanks and aloha for now....

The backyard was perfect for my kids and I got to paddle straight out to a world class surf hubby loved the flat screen tv for sunday football yet still enjoying the amazing ocean view!   Almost my whole family was able to attend my son's wedding on Oahu and the Laniakea beach house and the Turtle House made the stay wonderful. I was on Oahu for 8 days, and we enjoyed the beach house so much I never even made it to Honolulu.
  Every morning I was the first on out on the beach to see the sunrise, and I ended the stay very much relaxed and anxious for another visit.
  I intend to try to do this again in a few years.

  The BBQ grill is getting old and needs replacin or some serious maintenance. It wouldn't stay on. Other than that, this place is truly a great getaway. ai don't think it could get any better.

  We stayed here for 7 days in late March of 2009. The location of this house is perfect. Right on the beach and just a short walk from a turtle haul out beach (Laniakea).
  
  Some aspects of the house were less than perfect (one of the toilets was wobbly, the jacuzzi leaked, and we had a faucet cease to shut off). Management was quick to address issues that were fixable (faucets, propane on BBQ ran out, etc.)
  
  Overall, we'd definitely stay here again. Just know that the house isn't "perfect". But these features were outweighed by the view and great location. We would come back again.

    Toliet was fixed as soon as they left. Jacuzzi was repaired and we have 2 propane tanks at the home they just didn't see it.

  This home is one-of-a-kind as far as a vacation rental. It has 2 bedrooms with sliders facing the ocean which is very relaxing for sleeping. The double refrigerators was a nice touch. What really sets this Oahu home apart is the location. You can swim with the turtles, snorkel in clear water with lots of colorful fish or just relax and watch the surfers ride. I rarely go to the same location twice for vacation but this home will be an exception. It was safe, beautiful and very comfortable.

  Location was great, close to town for groceries and eating. Swimming with the turtles was the highlight of this property. Good view of sunset from the large deck. Outdoor shower was handy. Loved the 2 refigerators! 1 for food, 1 for drinks. A few problems: Some screens were broken so these windows could not be opened due to bugs coming in. No garage or beach chairs as posted on lisitng.

  It was the second time we stayed at this particular beach house. My sister reserved it a year and a half prior. We loved the location and the quietness we experienced the first time. So we decided to return to the beach house once again. It's just awesome to walk out on the Lanai and see and hear the waves and if you decide to go for a swim, just walk down the steps to the beach. AWESOME!!!!! We will have some very wonderful and warm memories at this beach house and will probably return once again.

  Overall, this was a wonderful house and we were not disappointed at all. The reservation process was speedy & easy, the directions on getting to the house and how to enter the home was great. We loved not having keys, but only codes for the doors. That was great! We loved all the amenities of the house like the hot tub, hammock, bar-b-que, chairs, sand toys, etc. A few items of feedback would be that the house book/binder & our rental contract contradicted themselves. One said strip the beds & the other said leave them made. One said buy toilet paper, paper towels, etc. & the other said nothing about that. So, maybe update the house book because this caused some confusion. Also, we had some lights & remotes that weren't working because of burned out bulbs & dead batteries in remotes & flashlights. These things were taken care of quickly by staff. A ping pong table was in the game room, but there were no balls to play with. We also didn't know if we should be using the blue recycling cans. We would have liked to do that as we hated throwing away all the paper, cardboard & plastic containers, so instructions on that would have been nice. Also, the tv in the bedroom w/ the king & 2 twins was not working correctly....the picture was fuzzy. All relatively small issues, but just want you to know about them. We had a wonderful stay at this home and plan to return to Hawaii very soon.

Turtles swimming about and sunning on the beach. Haleiwa just a few miles south. Turtle Bay Golf Course a few miles north. A guy could spend his whole life in this house.

  This is a fantastic beach house that is in a perfect location on the North Shore. It is close to Haleiwa and yet still out in the 'country'. Two families with 7 kids ranging in age from 8 months to 18 years had plenty of space with room to spare. The beach is beautiful, private, and perfect for playing in the sand and ocean; the deck and hot tub are terrific with amazing views; and the house is comfortable, casual, and comes with everything you need for a relaxing Hawaiian vacation!

  Although we live in Hawaii, We have rented this beach house every summer for 6 years. Our family has built memories here that you cannot get anywhere else. The house is Perfect. Not pretentious, nice & large enough for many. Set on the sand with a lovely deck to excape the sun & sand when needed. The view & sunsets are undescribable. The hot tub allows the adults to enjoy the most beautiful evening sunsets too. A grass yard to play games. The turtles are endless, they swim back & forth all day long. I wish I could live there !   Originally planned one week on Oahu and the next on Maui, the house was so nice and peaceful, the North shore was beautiful, and the rest of the island was accessible when we got to Maui, we decided to fly back the next day and stay another week.
