  We enjoyed the spaciousness of the place even with 18 people we never felt crowded. The beach was still not so clean due to the recent storm. It was lovely to sit on the deck and watch the ocean. The younger kids had great fun in the pool and using the pool table and ping pong.
  We did think one refrig in particular did not work too well although the freezer worked. The hot tub was not very hot until someone did come and fix it. I know the sand is a problem but it is hard not to get some in there and the pool.
  It is a great place and we would love to come again.
  
  (The worst part was the neighbor dogs that were in a kennel and the other chained up all the time. It was sad to have to go by them so much every day. The never barked but looked so pathetic and the kennel wasn't the cleanest.)

  Fantastic place to stay for large groups who want gathering space, yet privacy for personal time as well. DO NOT be put off by the location. It came as a bit of a surprise that the house is actually in a neighborhood, and a bit of an eclectic neighborhood at that. Once on the property all our concerns were gone. We had private beach access, there were no crowds, etc. The town itself had wonderful restaurants and shops--lots of fun. You are a bit of a drive from the main attractions, but access into Honolulu was easy and we were glad to be out of the hubhub. It just depends on what you're seeking.
  The home itself offers everything you could possibly need. I cannot think of a thing we were lacking. It is not fancy, but it is clean and comfortable, spacious and welcoming. I would return and I would recommend it, especially for its size, to anyone wanting a relaxed beach vacation for a large group.

  The Haleiwa Plantation was the perfect place for large family Christmas celebration. The house was clean, great access to the beach and we especially loved being able to eat together. The row of tables seats 20.
  At first the neighborhood seemed run down and a bit sketchy. But after a day there we didn't really notice it but thought the neighbors were nice.
  There were only 2 negatives; the water in the hot tub was very dirty and I"m not sure the filter works. It was quickly drained and cleaned when I notified the office.
  The only other problem was there was no door or gate on the deck above the stairs leading down to the pool. We had 2 toddlers in our group so we were constantly worried when they were not within eye sight.
  We also liked being on the North Shore. It's quiet yet close to some fun attractions and food.
  We hope to visit again.

  Our family of 14 had a blast the house was big enough that each individual had their own space. Being handicapped the beach had easy acsess for someone who has problems walking. Great food in Haleiwa, and the people are great.

  Hawaii Beach Homes was very responsive to our needs. We had 5 adults and 5 kids from 10 to 14 and had plenty of room. we found good snorkeling at Aweoweo Beach Park, less than a mile and about 3 minute drive. there were lots of turtles and it was very safe and almost private on week days.
  The kitchen was great, plenty of refrigerator and freezer space. The non-stick pots and pans could be replaced as they were misused and scratched.
  the bedding was very comfortable (all of the bed spreads were laundered before our visit)
  the hot tub worked and was used every day. the pool was big enough for the kids on rainy days.
  the fans worked great, so no need for AC.
  Parking was great for 2 large SUV's.
  Matsimotos shaved ice every day was a highlight. Highly recommended for large groups.
  we could easily have had another 4 or 5 people and not be crowded.

  After a few missed tries at getting a beachfront house for our special family time we were given the opportunity at this amazing place. We all walked up the stairs and stood staring at the fantastic house and its amenities and then we saw the view and what a view it was. We had many 20 somethings with us so having the hottub and play room mad this the best holiday ever. The beach had several "turtle" visits and was fine for getting wet and great beach walks.
  We did find that a car is a must as the town and surfing is too far to walk and the buses took a bit too long. The town of Haleiwa is perfect for stolling and shopping and eating.
  Our 10 days went by far too quickly and we vowed to return again as soon as we can.
  Try it you'll love it!

  Great location, great for a large group. I must say, though, for what we had to pay, the house isn't in top-notch condition and plus pay for cleaning, we did have to do a lot of cleanup/washing before we left. But I would rent this place again if I couldn't

  This vacation home was very nice. We had 4 generations in our group of 14 and there was plenty of space for all. The best part was watching the whales splash in the ocean while drinking coffee on the balcony. Our only complaint (and it had nothing to do with the house) was that all the activities we wanted to do were in Honolulu so we ended up doing a lot of driving back and forth each day. I would definitely recommend this house to anyone who has a big group.

  Our group of 17 family/friends who stayed for a week in Feb. 2011. We had 12 adults and 5 small (3 and under) children. This house was HUGE and great for a big group like ours. I don't think the description quite does it justice. From what I can guess, it was going to be built as two separate units and at some point they decided to keep it as one big house. On the main floor, there's essentially two kitchens and two living rooms connected by a giant dining room table. Then on each side there's two bedrooms and one bath on the main floor and two bedrooms, both with their own baths, on the top floor. Essentially there's 8 bedrooms in 4 groups of 2.
  
  This actually worked out perfectly for our group. Those of us with kids could have them in the next-door bedroom and not be too close to anyone else. The giant dining room table (probably seats around 20) worked well for us to cook a few dinners with everyone.
  
  On the ground floor, there's a big unfinished room with ping pong, foosball and a pool table. Outside that there's the hot tub and pool. Beyond that, the big lawn (there was croquet, etc) and the beach. Big decks on both of the floors looked out on the ocean. In the upper floor bedrooms you could hear the waves at night. Pretty sweet. For our little kids, the main floor had gates by the stairs going down - a nice touch.
  
  Everyone we spoke with was quite helpful and prompt in responses. Victor, the caretaker who has an apt attached to the house was cool. Overall, great experience - highly recommended for big groups.
  
  Here's a few negative/suggestions for improvement:
  
  - Biggest negative -though the house was quite clean, it was clear that the floor (the whole place is either tile or wood) hadn't been mopped before our visit. Our feet were completely black after walking around for a few minutes. Please be sure the cleaning crew does the floor. Everything else was spicand-span though, so no one minded too much.

  This spacious home in Haleiwa was perfect for our Oahu vacation for our extended family. This eight bedroom home is fully furnished and was great for family cooking and gatherings. There is a Costco about half way from the airport which made meal planning convenient. It is about a half an hour drive from Honolulu Airport and about the same to the Laia Temple and PCC. It was great to be able to watch the huge waves breaking out on the reef and to listen to all night long as you sleep. That with the full moon was a spectacular experience. It's very convient to Sunset beach to watch the surfing competitions as well. The beach at the house is a agragate of coral, shell and quarts. What I expected for the area. My only concerns were it wasn't as clean as it could have been, and the jacuzzi was not hot. But overall I would Highly recommend the "plantation House" to anyone. We will use it again in the future.

  great location for a family re-union. well stocked with everything you could imagine for a family. the children and adults loved the games room. the bedrooms were spacious, the decks were wonderful to sit, relax, talk and watch the water. it was close to amenities and Haleiwa is close by with everything you need including resturants, shops etc. the family went fishing, diving with sharks, walking thru Waimea area, surfing, swimming and more. any issues were dealt with promptly and courteously. Loved it!!!

  After much searching I choose this house for a week long reunion of Canadian and Australian family and friends. The house looked large enough to accomodate all of us and it's ocation on a North Shore beach away from the hussle and bussle of Honolulu was appealing. I was slightly anxious hoping that it would be as good as the photos indicated but without exception everyone was blown away with how nice the house is and would love to have a return visit. The layout of the rooms is perfect and although there were 16 of us there always seemed to be enough room for all and it wasn't hard to find a quiet spot to chill out away from the laughter and chatter of the others. The house is a short drive to the Haleiwa township and the surf beaches but the house is so well set up that you really don't have to go anywhere else if you don't want to. We ate most night time meals at the house and found the kitchen to be very well equiped. Sharing these meals around the long dining table was a highlight and the 2 available dishwashers made the cleanup easy. While the water directly out front was a bit mucky for swimming it was only a short walk around the small bay to a spot where the water was crystal clear and the waves gentle. We were even lucky enough to see a large green sea turtle crawl up onto the beach after one swim. The process of booking the property was easier than I imagined and all my contacts with the management staff was friendly and efficient.

  It was so fun falling asleep listening to the waves every night. One big bonus was the game room on the first level. It has big sliding walls that open directly onto the patio with pool, hot tub, and grass/beach. Definitely our family's "hang-out" during the day. Loved it!
  
  Sunday's Haleiwa farmers market and snorkeling in Shark's Cove was also great (snorkeling was way better than Hanauma Bay).

  I love the North Shore! Great beaches, people and weather. The house was so nice to come home to. We had our own beach, played games in the yard and used the hot tub and pool. We had a group of 13 and the house was spacious enough for everyone. The only downside is the upper dryer heat did not work so we were up and down the stairs to dry clothes.   A great home for a large group of people. The rooms were spacious and many had private bathrooms. Beach towels were available for use. Kitchen space was more than adequate with great gadgets and utinsels. Wonderfully large table for group meals.
  The beach was not spectacular-rough sand, small space and not great for walking. The pool was quite small and the hottub was old and seemed like it needed a major cleaning (but still fun!).
  Overall, great price for a large house!

  My husband and I, four children, spouses and 8 grandchildren ages 10 months to 13 yrs just spent 2 wks at Haweiwa. Everything was as advertised...plenty, plenty of space, comfortable beds, nice linens and towels. Lots of beach towels and beach toys. The kids were in the pool and hot tub from 9am getting out only for meal!!! We played pool, ping pong, whiffle ball, badmitten, foos ball besides enjoying the beach, pool and hot tub. Todd, the caretaken, was around, but not in the way. We would definitely go again.....From Haleiwa we also went to Pearl Harbor, the Sea Life Center, Dole Plantation, and spent time in the lovely/quaint town of Haleiwa. A fantastic vacation! The ocean water is a little rough at times, but not nearly as rough as the beach at Sunset Beach and the other surfing beaches. We had lots of fun boogie boarding and trying out the body boards on the beach in front of us. Was great for beach walking also.

  A first stay for us on the N. Shore. Long incredible beach, perfect for the beach walker. I was amazed the first three days we were there, only saw two other people walking on the beach.
  House was more than we thought it would be! HUGE! It would be the perfect place for a family reunion. Not only plenty of room but also places where it could be relatively quiet to sit and enjoy a book.

  17 of our family were able to gather at this home for a vacation of a lifetime. This was our first Christmas after my Grandpa passed away and it was such a huge loss that we decided to come to the North Shore to try to heal a bit and celebrate both Grandpa and Grandma's lives together.
  This home was perfect for our family. The beach was right out our back door and the kids loved having the pool and the hot tub to play in. It was a relaxing wonderful vacation for 10 days we escaped and enjoyed the ocean breeze in the evening in our bedrooms at night and off the porch in the morning at breakfast and after dinner. We loved having a long enough table for all of us to eat at together. Two kitchens and three fridges were a plus also.
  The onsite manager Todd was extremely helpful and not at all intrusive. If you have ever considered a holiday on Oahu for your family I would recommend this home 100% without hesitation. Mahalo and Aloha!

  The back yard has changed since the photos were posted. There are less palm trees and a beach shack. Depending on what time of year you go, it may be important to know there is NO air conditioning!! The towels were a bit smelly, probably from the wet salt water beach air. The house is in a great location. We really wanted to be away from the hustle of Honolulu. Haleiwa is a great town. The two kitchens and three fridges really came in handy for our large group. We really enjoyed our stay and would do it again.

  This was a wonderful vacation and I thank you for helping us bring it all together. Overall it was fantastic. There was an overall feeling that the place was a bit "tired" and "shabby"...needs some updates...new bedspreads in Master, some new pillows. The cleaners need to pay more attention to lamps (were very dusty). There was mattresses in the entrance just sitting there...not a great welcome.
  
  We reconstructed the palm tree beach shack by the ocean as it was literally falling down. I only offer this for the convenience of the next renters. Overall, everyone had a great time and we would certainly consider it for another family vacation.

  Yes, the property I/we rented for 12 days was "nice" BUT it was DEFINITELY not the same property shown in the pictures. AND it WAS NOT the "Haleiwa Plantation" I thought I was paying for! I eventually learned that the real (?)Haleiwa Plantation was on long term rental and/or for sale. Whatever. It was unavailable. Sheeesh.
  I could not even get the location of the HP so I might compare it with the property I had rented. So, the rental rate I was charged was the same as in the H.P. listing, but since I couldn't compare the two, who's to say if my rate was as "reasonable"(?)!
  I smelled a rat! So, I'm thinkin' "Bait and Switch" scam. I began calling the rental agency. My calls went unanswered for several days. I waited.
  When the rental agency finally answered my phone call, I learned that the agent I had been dealing with was away from the office due to a family emergency. So, okay.
  The agent who was "filling in" was totally clueless about the situation (or what to do about it!). No help. In fact, she offered absolutely no explanation/excuse or consideration of any kind. She only seemed concerned that, Gawd forbid, we might contact the Better Business Bureau.........
  I haven't (yet!).
  Evidently, "customer satisfaction" is not a priority with this company and their "customer service" leaves alot to be desired as well.
  Since then, the only thing I've gotten from them is this "Customer Satisfaction Survey". Go figure!
  Anyway, there's my $.02! FWIW

    This is not an accurate reflection of the incident. The guests saw a home on line that was called the Paradise Plantation. It is not a beachfront home and is a 5 bedroom house with a pool. This home was recently removed from the rental market by the owner and we do not rent it. When guests call we tell them this and indicate that we have another large home called the Haleiwa Plantation and it is beachfront and is a 8 bedroom house with a pool and a jacuzzi. We understand that the names of the house are similar but we have never had a problem with people confusing it before as we are very clear and we tell them to look at the photos on line of the home we do have. The contract they were sent clearly stated that were renting Haleiwa Plantation. This is the name of the house as indicated on the internet and is the house that they rented. Apparently one of the guests was confused and thought they were staying in a home called the Paradise Plantation. They did not complain about the home when they arrived until a few days later. The manager was off island but was informed but the caretaker was present on the property and had to deal with the guests who were extremely abusive and highly intoxicated most of the time. A guests of the person who booked the home and was the person on our contact was the one who was complaining but the gentleman who was actually on the contract did not complain and indicated that he was happy with the home. As such, we defered to the indications of the contracting party and not one of his guests.

  We stayed with 2 sets of Uncles & Aunties, the in laws & our 2 children. The rooms & spaciousness of the 3 storey house was just what the doctor ordered after 5days in the madness of Waikiki. Unfortunatley the weather was not the best but the spa got a good work out each night. The kids in the neighbourhood have built their hang out/club house out the front on the beach but they are all good kids & worth while having a chat to, they even offered us the use of their set up whenever we wanted. It was kind of cute of them to ask as when you look behind their club house was our 3 storey castle. The beach isn't much to look at but the pool & spa more than suffices. The care taker Todd was only around when we needed him otherwise we never saw him. A car is a must but that is the case for staying at any north shore house. In all a top stay & the airfield is down the road if you feel like a tandem 14,000ft sky dive E YA

  Customer service prior to our arrival was stellar. The onsite property manager was also great and not at all intrusive. The home was well kept and we enjoyed the lawn, jacuzzi, bbq grill, and ping pong table. Beach water was dirty and not suitable for fishing, diving, or swimming, however.

  I'd recommend this property, though with reservations. If you want a wide beach for swimming, this isn't it. The beach itself was fairly minimal and the water quality was poor due to the previous storms while other nearby beaches had beautiful water. Todd, the manager, was great! Overall, a nice, clean, restful property suitable for large groups with lots of room for individual privacy.

  We stayed at this property 2 years ago and it was spotless. Right now it could do with a really good scrub. If you look for instance around the door handles of the kitchen cabinets, they are a little grubby. Also, when we stayed before there were TV's in every room so we were expecting the same this time. In the photos on the website it shows the rooms with Tv's but there weren't any. Actually, we are not fussed about there being TV's but it is important to deliver what is advertised. We do love the house and the privacy of being there. It was a little disconcerting this time having someone staying on the property. Overall, we have recommended this property to a number of people who have now also stayed there. We are in the travel business, so have 'been there, done that' and this is definitely on our list of places to stay. In fact it is now listed in our published travel guide. We had a lovely time because we could be together with people we like to spend time with, the house has space and something for everyone, not matter what age. Mahalo!

    The home now undergoes a monthly deep-cleaning schedule as well as the usual cleanings between reservations, and we have put televisions in every bedroom. Since your visit we have also added hardwood floors to the bedrooms, refinished the deck, improved the landscaping, and repainted.   This house was spacious enough for all 12 of our family members. The long dining room table allowed us to sit down together for our meals. The kitchen was fully stocked with dishes and utensils. All linens and beach towels were provided. We were also able to get a porta crib and high chair for the baby. Our family had a wonderful experience in this house.

  We really enjoyed the stay in Waialua. The house was big enough for three families and equipped very well. There were no air-conditoners, but it was not a problem. There always had ventilation with natural breeze. The neighorfood was calm and laid-back. One thing I missed of the property was a beautiful beach to swim. The water of the beach was not very clear. Overall we were very satisfied with the home.
