  The house was right on the beach which was fantastic. I was worried about traffic noise because it is on a main street but by 9 o'clock at night the street was quiet and there was very little street noise even during the day.

  We were very happy with this vacation. The process was fantastic, and the pictures on the website were very accurate to reality of the property. We will certainly be back.
  
  We had an issue with the air conditioner on day one and it was fixed within 15 minutes of reporting it. We were very pleased with the property management company response and professional, reliable service.
  
  If you are considering a house at all in Honolulu, this spot is beautiful, RIGHT on the ocean, and perfect for families or couples. It is well laid out and conducive to socializing and entertaining.
  
  The highway out front is busy, but it is a small sacrifice for the convenience of getting around the island. You can't hear the highway when in the back at the ocean, and the way the property is laid out, this is where you spend all of your time anyway.
  
  You will not be disappointed with this property. It is beautiful.

  From the time we arrived at the house, everything just got better and better. The House, when you came in the front door, the view was of the beach and water, un-real. The house was perfect, few problems with the fridge, but no big deal. We were there for a Wedding and the rest of the family stayed next door, that was so perfect. The weather was wonderful. It was hard waking up every morning to the wonder view. The rental company could not do enough for us, Thanks Amanda and crew. If you ever make it to Hawaii and need a house to rent, you have to look no more. Wonderful just wonderful.

  We are very satisfided with the house itelf and its location. We could have very happy vacation there.
  If we say some points for three stars, toilet water dose not stop flushing and some lights do not work well. But we could have maintanance soon after we said so. Anyway these are just little things. We would like to stay there, if we have again a chance to come to Hawaii!

  The beachside location was fantastic and the house itself was very nice. A great layout and well sized.
  
  the only complaints I had was that the jacuzzi was not working, nor was there access to the garage.
  It would have been nice to be made aware of this when we arrived.
  
  All in all a great place for a family to stay. However it is essential to have access a car to get around!!

    Thanks for the review, Matthew! The garage is currently being used as a storage area and laundry room, hence we do not advertise the house with a garage, but the driveway is gated. The jacuzzi is fixed and working perfectly now.

  Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this remarkable beach home. The views are spectacular and we enjoyed both walking the beach just out the front gate and family meals with the front yard as a picture post card backdrop. The house was clean with plenty of towels and housekeeping supplies on hand. We notice near the end of our stay that the smoke detectors in the bedrooms were either missing batteries or missing altogether. The property management people said they would get that taken care of right away. Also a house number sign that faced on coming traffic rather than across the street would make it much easier to find the driveway. We missed it the first time we arrived.
  Our family agreed that we would love to return and enjoy the oceanfront experience again.

  What an amazing experience. You open the front door and the first thing you notice about the decor is the beach in the backyard. What a beautiful home. The ocean is beautiful, and even more spectacular floating 200 yards out on a boogie board. We are the last thing from morning people, but this place inspired us to wake up to the sunrise and enjoy the day. But if you like the place during the day, it's even nicer at night sitting on a lawn chair under the stars and the swaying palm trees. The location? Awesome. 15 minutes west is Waikiki, and 10 minutes east is Hanauma Bay. The place was spotless, the service was perfect, and it was the perfect place for us. What a great time we had. Thank you Hawaii Beach Homes! We'll be back!

  My family and parents stayed at this property. It was beautiful - right on the beach. The back yard had a spectacular view that faced onto the ocean and had a fence, which was perfect to keep my two small children from getting to the beach without an adult. The house itself had ample space for the six of us and the kitchen appeared to be recently renovated. We enjoyed our breakfast each morning on the lanai, watching surfers, fishermen, and boats. We were close to grocery stores, restaurants, and many of Oahu's tourist attractions. One thing has to be mentioned for future renters: We recommend that you bring ear plugs to wear when sleeping. There is a significant amount of traffic noise, but well worth the minor inconvenience to stay in this GREAT place!!

  We were very pleased with our stay in South Shore 43. It was a comfortable house and a great location. The view was fabulous, the yard and house were terrific. The only downside was the actual beach. It was a water sports paradise but not the nicest beach for playing or swimming. We enjoyed watching the surfers, wind surfers and board paddlers.
  There were a few things missing in the house but the management company took care of them right away.
  Also, the street is incredibly busy, but once you are in the house you mostly do not notice.
  All in all we really enjoyed this property and found it perfectly located to all the wedding events that we were in Honolulu to attend!

    The beaches along the south shore are not as tropical as those on the north shore. There is an outerlying reef that keeps the water shallow along this stretch of coast. Many guests like this if they have smaller children as the kids can play along and in the water without being stuck by waves. There is also a nice stretch of beach for walking. The image in the photo of the house shows the beach accurately. If you are looking for beaches with waves, the North Shore is much better or you can drive the very short distance from this house to Waikiki where you can find surfing beaches nearby.

  Our favorite points of this home are the ocean side location with the waves lapping up to the sea wall at times. We loved the evenings with the sunset and dinners enjoyed at any of three locations depending on the weather. The choices were a wonderful oversized picnic style table outside in the great yard. Anther location is the lanai, and of course, inside. All with a mesmorizing ocean sound and view.

  We definitely ejoyed this property's view and location. The house was in good shape and any very comfortable. Minor issues were brought to property managements attention and were fixed.The street noise for the two front bedrooms was major. Had to wear earplugs to sleep.Over all had a fantastic stay.

    The noise from the street is noticable if you leave the windows and doors from the street side open but the home is airconditioned and we recommend closing the windows and doors on that side of the property. May of Oahus better homes reside on this stretch of road that follows the coast from Waikiki to Hanama Bay and Sandy Beach but they are designed so that the majority of the house opens to the water side thus blocking the noise if you close the street side windows.

The home's location was perfect, just outside Honolulu and Waikiki and on the beach.   South Shore 43 property was very clean and had very modern amenities. Very convenient location near Costco and Hawaii Kai shopping. The only drawback is that it's located on the Kalanianaole Hwy, so you hear alot of traffic noise at night. Wished there was more sandy beach area to play and walk on.

  We had some difficulty using the lock box, but the manager came right over to help us when asked. The house was just as pictured, comfortable, especially the master bedroom and bath with its great shower. Road noise is noticable but becomes "white noise" after a bit. Two towel racks were not in place in the bathrooms, one in each bathroom, and we had to call to get the shower head replaced in the second bathroom, but it was done promptly and is great now. The kitchen was easy to use with ample countertops, a large fridge, all appliances in good shape and easy to use. There are plenty of towels, 4 medium-sized beach towels, reef shoes, two kids' boogie boards to use. Getting in and out of the driveway is a little dicey at rush hour - just be careful to peek down the road for oncoming traffic. It takes about 5-10 minutes to get to Waikiki and only about the same to get to Hanauma Bay. I was glad not to have stayed in Waikiki and we felt very relaxed and at home on this property. It seems to have been built in the 70s, has a bit of a Japanese styling to it with mostly wood floors (the two smaller bedrooms have carpet that would benefit from a shampooing). There is a large shopping center east of the home about 4-5 miles that has a lot of restaurants, a multiplex theater, a large supermarket and a microbrewery that is lots of fun. Costco is also very close by. I like things to be easy to use and attractive but appropriate for the climate I'm in - not generic McMansions - so this was just right for our 10-day stay.

  My husband and two young children thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property. The house was larger than expected and was fully stocked for a relaxing stay. The property manager was friendly and called to ensure that everything was satisfactory. We were very close to many amenities (shopping, fitness, restaurants, banks etc) and only a 10/15 min. drive to Waikiki. The home is direclty off a very busy road so there was some traffic noise ONLY in the guest bedrooms, but it did not distub the childrens sleep at all. The beach was fantastic, shared by only 15 or so homes. Watching the windsurfers just off the coast was a real highlight! The water is very shallow and warm, terrific for little kids. We felt very safe both in the home and in the neighbourhood. We would definitely recommend this property and hope to stay here again if we travel to Oahu in the future.

  We enjoyed our stay very much. The furnishings were good, especially the outdoor area. The main thing lacking was a large TV in the living room. An additional TV would have been nice in the master bedroom. The house also seems to have some problems with the electrical wiring. We noticed this in the master bedroom, garage door and the security gate. The one time that we tried to use the air conditioner, it didn't seem to work. The master bath area is very nice. The house is spacious, updated and the views are unsurpassed. Overall we enjoyed our stay very much and hope to be back.

  Having a home away from home for a family vacation is far better than being in a hotel or resort. It provides privacy and independence that cannot be found during a hotel stay.
